Rengifo qued&oacute; hu&eacute;rfano a los meses de su nacimiento, creci&oacute; bajo el cuidado de Mariano Roraima y Asunci&oacute;n Delgado. Estudi&oacute; artes pl&aacute;sticas en Venezuela, en M&eacute;xico se enfoc&oacute; en conocer el muralismo y realiz&oacute; una pedagog&iacute;a en Chile.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; color: #000000;\">Adem&aacute;s de pintor y dramaturgo, fue poeta, promotor cultural, pol&iacute;tico y escultor, es conocido por defender la identidad nacional. Rengifo, obtuvo premios significativos dirigidos a la Mejor Obra en el II Festival de Teatro Venezolano, tambi&eacute;n es reconocido como un gran exponente de teatro nacional.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; color: #000000;\">En 1954 obtuvo el Premio Nacional de Pintura y tambi&eacute;n el Premio Arturo Michelena, en Valencia, del mismo modo recibi&oacute; los galardones Andr&eacute;s P&eacute;rez Mujica y Antonio Esteban Fr&iacute;as, tambi&eacute;n en Valencia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; color: #000000;\">Entre sus obras, las m&aacute;s conocidas son: el mural en mosaico titulado <i>El mito de Amalivaca<\/i> en el Centro Sim&oacute;n Bol&iacute;var y&nbsp;<i>Creadores de la Nacionalidad<\/i> plasmado en el Paseo de Los Pr&oacute;ceres.
