Con la apertura de este recinto cultural, se abre paso a uno de los cap&iacute;tulos m&aacute;s simb&oacute;licos de la historia de la ciudad, con este primer espacio para eventos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">En 1889 el espacio cultural cambia de nombre a Municipal, iniciando una nueva etapa en la historia contempor&aacute;nea venezolana. A mitad del siglo XX el Teatro sufri&oacute; modificaciones, entre ellas la mutilaci&oacute;n de su cuerpo frontal, con lo cual el peristilo semicircular, el vest&iacute;bulo original y la escalera del palco presidencial desaparecen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">En a&ntilde;os recientes este espacio emblem&aacute;tico fue restaurado por la Alcald&iacute;a del Municipal Bolivariano Libertador, ente que mantiene una programaci&oacute;n permanente en el recinto como obras de teatros, conciertos, eventos y otras actividades. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; line-height: 12.6pt; vertical-align: baseline; text-align: justify; background: none 0% 0% repeat scroll white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Descripci&oacute;n del edificio<\/span><br \/><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Esta joya arquitect&oacute;nica posee una sala de espect&aacute;culos, de cuatro niveles denominados Patio, Sof&aacute;, Palco y Galer&iacute;a, adem&aacute;s del escenario m&aacute;s representativo del siglo XIX, concebido como el &ldquo;Templo de Las Musas&rdquo;, cuenta con un mobiliario de estilo Luis XI, luminarias de bronce y cristal tipo plaf&oacute;n aplique, l&aacute;mparas imperiales, faroletas, una gran l&aacute;mpara de sal&oacute;n denominada &ldquo;La Reina&rdquo;. Este espacio es declarado Monumento Nacional seg&uacute;n Gaceta Oficial 31.678, del 1 de febrero de 1979.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Ubicaci&oacute;n:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"> Avenida Lecuna con Avenida Oeste 8, parroquia Santa Teresa.
