Construido en los a\u00f1os 40, originalmente estuvo concebido como cine y en \u00e9l fueron transmitidos importantes pel\u00edculas, como el largometraje \u201cEsp\u00e9rame\u201d donde actu\u00f3 el compositor, autor y cantante argentino Carlos Gardel. Luego de ser uno de los cines emblem\u00e1ticos de Caracas, fue abandonado por las autoridades del momento quedando a merced del comercio. Desde los a\u00f1os 50 y hasta el 2012, el teatro fue sede de un \u201ccentro comercial\u201d informal.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el marco del Plan Catia, proyecto del Gobierno nacional fue reinaugurado el 2 de febrero de 2012 por el Comandante Hugo Ch\u00e1vez. Desde entonces, el teatro forma parte de los escenarios de espect\u00e1culos de las artes esc\u00e9nicas comunitarias y nacionales. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
